Performance issues - Some of the data layers are very large and may not load properly if you are zoomed out too far. Also, the map may not function properly if too many layers are turned on at one time. For best results, zoom in to a specific area before turning the layers on and try to use no more than 4 layers at one time.
If you see a message on the screen that says "Data may still be loading. Drag or refresh the page to find out!", do not refresh the page. The best way to get the data to display is to zoom in or out.

Gill Net Surveys - Data from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept. Some locations appear on land, TPWD has reported that this is a data entry/data recording issue.
The gill nets used are 600 feet long and 4 feet deep with separate 150 feet sections of 3 and 4 inch (#12 monofilament), 5 and 6 inch (#18 monofilament) stretched mesh tied together in ascending mesh size. Gill nets are set out overnight with early morning retrieval during each spring and fall season.
