Corpus Christi Bay 1845
As
the notes say "sketched by a settler". This map shows
Corpus Christi Bay, Aransas Bay and Copano Bay. It also shows
the town of Copano which no longer exists and Corpus Christi Pass
which is now known as Packery Channel.
San Luis Pass 1853
The map
gives sailing directions for entering the Pass and shows the location
of the ferry across the Pass.
Entrance to the Rio Grande 1854
Shows the location of the town of Bagdad in Mexico, a well
known haven for smugglers and pirates.
Map of the Public Roads of Nueces County
1879
At the time, Nueces County included Kleberg
County. This map has a lot of detail on land ownership. Shows
the old roads to Brownsville and Laredo. Also shows the channels
through Corpus Christi Pass and Aransas Pass. Baffin Bay is shown
but at the time it was known only as the Salt Lagoon.
