Historical Maps of Texas.

Corpus Christi Bay 1845

As the notes say "sketched by a settler". This map shows Corpus Christi Bay, Aransas Bay and Copano Bay. It also shows the town of Copano which no longer exists and Corpus Christi Pass which is now known as Packery Channel.

San Luis Pass 1853

The map gives sailing directions for entering the Pass and shows the location of the ferry across the Pass.

Entrance to the Rio Grande 1854

Shows the location of the town of Bagdad in Mexico, a well known haven for smugglers and pirates.

Map of the Public Roads of Nueces County 1879

At the time, Nueces County included Kleberg County. This map has a lot of detail on land ownership. Shows the old roads to Brownsville and Laredo. Also shows the channels through Corpus Christi Pass and Aransas Pass. Baffin Bay is shown but at the time it was known only as the Salt Lagoon.
